tj-tam.com went from one page to four today. Here's what's on them.

Projects. 9 cards covering everything I'm building right now, filterable by category and by status. Some are live, some are half-built, one is a stack of picture books that exists mostly as a promise. See them.

Characters. The WEwiHaPaHE Empire, 33 sites across 18 domains, all linked from one page. Started 2003, online since 2005, and the live list still lives at spaceshipapi.com because I keep adding to it.

Paid AI Jobs. Companies hire people to work on AI research projects where humans help AI get better at helping humans. Nurses, teachers, accountants, welders. Most roles ask for no AI background. Remote and hourly, and my referral links cost you nothing to use.

Plus the happy hour maps for Pacific Beach and Las Vegas, both still running, both still with no ads.

On the build: the old site was PHP, Bootstrap, jQuery and Popper, roughly 1.3MB of dependencies serving five buttons. The new one is 220KB, plain HTML, no framework, no build step. Projects and characters render from JSON, so the content lives in data files and the pages just draw it.

293 tests, which is a lot for a personal site. I've spent too many years cleaning up after untested "quick fixes" to skip that.

The Empire is restored!

 This weekend we moved the entire Empire over to the new servers and brought back all of the properties in the Empire.  The Empire is served up with a single code base and a single database.  The Spaceship API serves up all of the 20+ properties in the Empire.  It was all down (white screen - ugh!) until we decided to take a weekend and update all the properties so that they are on a new server using freshly written custom code to serve up the Empire.

TJ Tam is launched!

OK, a few weeks ago I set up the domain, the blog, the SSL, and the HTTPS redirect. I waited all the extra time for DNS to resolve and got it working. Then it wasn't until I drew "TJ Tam" out of the hat that I finally wrapped up version one. The hosted home page is simple with just a few buttons and a picture of the jeep's license plate.

The Blog will soon be full of posts about the other sites I'm building. For now, if you want to see an updated list of the projects where I'm applying efforts, go to my Projects page.
